This past March we had the opportunity to host our first English camp. We had a team of 15 people come for 2 weeks to do 3 different camps in 2 different villages. Our goal in doing the camps is so the Thai’s can build relationships with the villagers for us to be able to share the Gospel with them. I’ll give you a little glimpse into our last camp so you won’t be able to resist but come join us with the next camps. Who doesn’t like playing with cute kids all day? We did 3 day camps from 9:00am-3:30pm which then consisted of 5 different stations per day. We all met together in the morning to play a few fun games with the kids before splitting up into teams of about 12-15 kids. Each group would then go around to each station to have an English lesson. The 5 stations were flannel graph Bible stories, cooking, English, crafts, and games. At each station we taught a few English words, for example at the cooking station we made pancake kabobs, so we taught the words pancake, strawberry, banana, etc. and then a sentence that went along with the words. The team was split up and in charge of the different stations. Then the Thai staff to take the children to the different stations. We had a few other staff along to help with the language barriers. While at camp the team also got to experience a little of what village life looks like.
We would love to have you join our next team!
